Grilled Hake with Chilli and Lemon

Serves 4


  • 4 hake fillets (approx. 150g / 5oz each)
  • 25ml / 1Ā½tbsp of olive oil
  • Finely grated rind and juice of 1 unwaxed lemon
  • 15ml / 1tbsp of crushed chilli flakes
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

Cooking Method

Preheat the grill to high Brush the hake fillets all over with the oil and place them on a baking sheet skin side up Grill the fish for 4-5 minutes, and then turn them over Sprinkle the fillets with the lemon rind and chilli flakes Season with salt and pepper Grill the fillets for a further 2-3 minutes (approx) Squeeze over the lemon juice just before serving
